THE RHEIN JOURNEY CONTINUES!
We began our journey down the Rhein several years ago by celebrating our fifth anniversary with two complete, fully staged and costumed performances of Die Walküre. In these performances, singers from our Wagner Theater Program were accompanied by an orchestra of 110 players drawn from the leading area music schools, conducted by David Gilbert and staged by Deborah Karner. In the Intensive Summer Program 2003, we presented staged scenes with orchestra from Das Rheingold and Götterdämmerung, followed in July by complete staged performances of Das Rheingold. In the fall of 2003, our goal of establishing an ongoing Orchestra Program was begun with five readings of Siegfried. In the Intensive Summer Program of 2004, we had staged readings of Siegfried, and during Summer Intensive 2005, we performed selected readings from all four of the Ring operas. And the work goes on!
